ANDY CERAMICS

Andy Ceramics is a small family owned workshop which makes original Polish pottery.  This workshop is located just outside of Boleslawiec, Poland.  Many of the designs have been created by Andy’s wife.  The Artisans work very hard to produce high quality Polish Pottery products to meet the demands of their Unikat clients.  Each piece is individually handcrafted and painted in detail.  They also will custom create and modify a complete range of designs, styles, patterns, sizes, and colors for large orders.

From the very beginning, Andy has based its business on the outstanding, yet old traditions of the local potter in doing original Polish pottery under glaze stamp ornamentation.  This is evident in the hand-formed dishes of the finest quality clays.  They strive to connect the esthetic and the everyday-use elements into a great harmony.  Each piece is a unique masterpiece (art of fire) due to its original and extraordinary form.  Their products have been made popular due to the beautiful shapes, rich ornamentation, and being burned in very high temperatures, which guarantees impermeability, durability, and resistance to damage.  The pottery is guaranteed to be microwave, oven, dishwasher, and freezer safe, as well as cadmium and lead free.  A wide range of safe ecological glazes is used for ornamentation.  They have a distinct look that separates them from other manufacturers.  Their Polish pottery assortment is rich, sumptuous, and diverse.

 CA (CERAMIKA ARTYSTYCZNA)

Ceramika Artystyczna, commonly known as CA, was founded in 1950 and has been making award winning stoneware for over 50 years.  Their name, translated into English, means ceramic art.  While all the ceramic factories in the Boleslawiec area produces beautiful pieces, the master ceramic artists employed by Ceramika Artystyczna produce exquisite designs and extraordinarily high quality pottery, especially the Unikat or Signature pieces.  Ceramika Artystyczna has won numerous awards for artistic design and quality.  This particular pottery is made of whiter, denser clan, and incorporates more intricate designs and shapes.  The quality of Ceramika Artystyczna’s glazing is unsurpassed.  The coffee pot with the Castle mark on the bottom of each piece, or the former mark of the Castle with a “B” on top, is the manufactures seal of authenticity.  Most of CA’s workers are women, including the president, and many are graduates of the Wroclaw Academy of Fine Arts.  The factory is a cooperative—all the profits are shared by the employees.  Most manufacturers have class levels for their products.  CA has: Standard or Traditional, “I” or Enhanced Traditional (more colors and details), Unikat (unique) U2 or Signature Level 2 (similar to an enhanced piece, but produced by a Master Artist and signed), Unikat U3 or Signature Level 3 (more detailed colors and craftsmanship), and Unikat U4 (Museum Quality Signature pieces, rare).

CA’s glazes are all state certified to be 100% lead free and cadmium free.  In addition, the glaze quality and high temperatures at which the pottery is fired result in surfaces with very low porosity.  Their products are oven, microwave, freezer, and dishwasher safe.

 DANA

The Dana noble ceramics manufacturer was established in 1975.  Dana Pottery is the only factory in Boleslawiec that continues to make their pottery completely by hand using the original traditional methods.  No machines are used.  All items are hand painted or hand stamped.  Since their items are hand crafted, they may have slight imperfections.  This is the original way Polish Potters and, in the 19th Century, German Artisans made them.  These techniques are still used by Artisans at Dana’s workshop.  This makes each item a unique piece of art.

 MANUFAKTURA

The stoneware factory known as “Manufaktura” was established in 1993.  It evolved out of the small business of Smoleński and Zwierz families.  Today, this family partnership is working very well and still developing.  Ten years ago, the factory employed ten people.  Presently, they employ over 190 people.  One of the leading producers of stoneware, Manufaktura decorates Polish pottery by hand using the stamp method.  In order to obtain the highest quality of products, they use only paints they manufacture themselves.  They offer over 250 functional products of all kinds and over 150 original and sophisticated patterns.  They are always open to the suggestions of their customers.  They have used many suggestions to enrich their products and offer new shapes and designs.  Most importantly, they focus on the highest quality and functionality of their products.  They continue to maintain the long-lasting pottery tradition known in the region of Poland, Boleslawiec, for over 100 years.

Their products are marked with the sign Ceramika Boleslawiecka to denote authenticity.  Their logo has a jug with a “B” inside it.  All their original products have this certificate “stamp” of authenticity with their logo on them.  This has been necessary in order to protect the marketplace against imitations.

In addition, Manufaktura has won many awards for their designs, notably the pattern RPB won the award of “Design of the Year 2005.”  Their artists continue to design and craft their individual products with skill and creativity.

 MILLENIUM

Ceramika Millena, or Millenium, is a producer and exporter of fine Polish Pottery.  They are a family owned stoneware factor based five miles outside of Boleslawiec, Poland, the historic town where Polish Pottery originated over 500 years ago.  In their workshop, they create pottery from locally sourced clay.  Each piece is shaped in their molds, and then exquisitely hand decorated and glazed.  The piece is then fired to over 2250 degrees Fahrenheit.  All the materials are dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe, cadmium and lead free.  Their pottery is truly natural and ecological because it involves the use of the four Universal elements—Earth, Wind, Water, and Fire.

Some of the traditional decorations were inspired by the colors of the peacock’s feather, employing cobalt blue as the predominant color.  Their contemporary designs draw on the warm tones of nature and the four seasons.  The artists of Millenium craft designs with flowers, leaves, stars, fruit, shells, and many other shapes.  They invite you to take a look at their exquisite designs.  They offer only the highest quality pottery to their customers worldwide.  Millenium has years of experience in the exportation of goods by air and sea.  They pride themselves in a strong commitment to customer relations.  All goods are expertly packed for shipment.  They are proud of their quality.

Vena is a dynamic family company.  They have been present on the Boleslawiec market since 2003.  They produce hand-formed and hand-decorated table ceramics.  The decorations on the products are applied by means of sub-glazing, therefore, the designs won’t wear or damage.  Their pieces are decorated by the stamp method as well as decorated and painted by hand with a paintbrush.  The use of high temperatures in firing the ceramics results in a shiny glaze and durable ceramic piece.  Their products are oven, microwave, and dishwasher safe.

Vena’s ceramics are characterized by the beauty of hand-made artistry, original style, very high quality, and complete functionality.  They carry a wide range of original and unique decorations and patterns.  They regularly implement new and interesting patterns, which are personally designed by the owner of the company.  Currently, they provide more than 100 different forms and over 80 decorative patterns from which to choose.

WIZA

Inter-Wiza is a ceramic company situated in Parowa, a small village near Boleslawiec.  They have a wide collection of artistic designer earthenware.  Because of the rich resource of clay in this region, they are able to produce large quantities without any problem.  They stick to the traditional hand making methods.  This traditional technology of ceramic making is enriched by their hand made decorations, which are covered by a glaze and fired at high temperatures creating superior quality.

Each and every ware produced in Wiza’s factory is a result of careful, imaginative, and encouraging commitment from their highly professional team of workers.  All their products are characterized by a light specific style and rich design.  Their products are oven, microwave, and dishwasher safe due to the resistance of high temperature and mechanical actions.

Ceramika Artystyczna “Wiza” started its operation in 1963 under the tutelage of Mr. Stanislaw Wiza.  Despite the difficult economic situation in Poland, the company was able to survive and develop to its present state of 120 workers due to his elasticity and careful management.  The quality of their products is highly competitive in the international market, which is why they are in such high demand.  This manufacturer is known for being top in product quality and top in customer service.

WR

WR Unikat has over 20 years experience in the ceramics industry.  Unikat is a Polish word meaning unique.  Unikat is an apt description for the Polish pottery made by this factory, WR Unikat.  It is a very high quality and well made product.  Like many other factories in the Boleslawiec region, WR located its factory there in order to utilize the high quality clay that is available for making the special Polish pottery stoneware that com3es from the region.  For years, WR made high quality ceramics, but did not make the traditional Polish pottery tableware.  Due to the booming market, WR decided to start their own line of Polish pottery stoneware.  When they did, they entered with a new concept in design.  They decided to make a Unikat product, hence their name—WR Unikat.

Polish pottery from WR Unikat is hand painted in unique, flowery patterns.  They have a large selection, but will custom design pieces when ordered at factory minimums.  The company prides itself on quality and service.  All their products are microwave, oven, dishwasher, and freezer safe.  All products sold are first grade.  There are many exciting patterns from which to choose.

 ZAKLADY CERAMICZNE

Zaklady Ceramiczne is renowned for their beautiful hand-finished, original style, and highly practical products.  They are one of the oldest and largest companies in the region of Boleslawiec.  They have been awarded many top prizes for industrial design, including “Design of the Year” in 1996.  Their items have a unique design, drawing from several hundreds of years of tradition of Polish, Czech, and German pottery making, a distinct stylistic canon, known in German as Bunzlauer Geschirr.  Significantly older Boleslawiec ceramic patterns have endured throughout the generations in family homes.  An integral part of the Silesian culture, these dishes have great sentimental value to Poles and Germans alike.  The products manufactured by ceramic masters of Boleslawiec were known throughout time not only in Poland, but also in Germany and Bohemia.

Although the inspiration came from past accomplishments, contemporary Boleslawiec ceramics have been creatively refined by designers and adjusted to meet the requirements of modern cuisine, taking into account vessels typical of different regions of Europe.  Zaklady uses the technique of stamping.  Their product range is based on handmade and hand-decorated tableware and kitchenware, an alternative to the unified deprivation of individual character associated with mass production.  A vast majority of their tableware is hand-cast in gypsum molds, whereas their garden and utility stoneware is formed on potter’s wheels.  They have a wide range of products in each category to appeal to the varied tastes of their customers.  This would not be possible with a manufacturer using automated production.

Zaklady Ceramicne strives to manufacture top quality stoneware featuring highly functional characteristics and original design.  All their employees are involved in implementing quality management.  This is achieved by:

  • Developing contacts with clients in a continuous way; analyzing & meeting their needs.
  • Developing products in a systematic way & continuously improving production.
  • Improving employees’ professional qualifications & developing skills for greater quality.
  • Holding each staff member responsible for the quality of work performed.
  • Allocating & providing resources for implementing plans.
  • Studying & implementing management according to ISO 9001:2000 Standards.
